The purpose of this paper is to outline the programmes of the Arctic Canada Gas Transmission Co., emphasise its problems, relate the Canadian frontier hydrocarbons to depletion of the world's hydrocarbon reservoirs and to discuss the Arctic region as a development area in the last quarter of the century. The Arctic Canada Gas Transmission Co. acquired the opportunity to purchase a substantial quantity of gas in the high Arctic that would yield 3.6 million tons of LNG and roughly 5 million tons of LPG annually.

The reservoir is situated in the multi-year ice region and the paper will discuss the rationale of the Gas Arctic System and the role of Liquid Phase Transportation of Gas Btu's worldwide.
