This course covers the mandatory requirements of regulation III/2 of STCW 1978, as amended in 1995, for the training requirements of chief and second engineer officers. It is based on the minimum knowledge required for certification of chief and second engineer officers on ships powered by main propulsion machinery of 3,000 kW propulsion power or more, as set out in section A-III/2 of the STCW Code.
