V.Ships - FPSO

Client: V.Ships
Website: www.vships.com
Project title: "FPSO Induction Training"
Date: September 2004

The Requirement:

Witherby Seamanship were asked to design and create a package for the induction of crew for service on Floating Production Storage and Offloading units (FPSO’s).

The package needed to deliver a 4-hour training session for crew-members in a regional training centre before appointment to an FPSO or for just-in-time training/induction onboard.

Whilst the package assists marine crew in understanding the operation of an FPSO, it will also assist Process staff in understanding the components of the marine unit

The Solution:

A multimedia training package with basic assessment was created covering the following areas:

  • FPSO General Safety & Induction
  • FPSO Layout
  • Safety
  • PPE
  • Emergency Actions
  • The Oilfield
  • FPSO Conversion/Build
  • Musters & Alarms
  • Permit System
  • Communications
  • Offloading
  • Summary

Client Comments:

We have introduced a Witherby Seamanship-developed FPSO induction course where our client wanted an entry level course. We have a project to develop training for more experienced officers to assist in their competency and we will again use Witherby Seamanship International".
