This paper summarises the state of the art of Bureau Veritas sloshing assessment of membrane type LNG vessels.

The Overall methodology is presented and its applicability demonstrated with an example of a carrier with regasification (LNG RV), the first vessel operating under partial filling conditions, classed by Bureau Veritas. The feasibility of partial fillings is demonstrated with respect to aspects of both the containment system and the double-hull structure resistance to the sloshing impact loads.
