La Ciotat shipyard (FRANCE). The containment system of the Tellier is the MARK I system developed by TECHNIGAZ. Since then she has performed more than 850 voyages, covering a distance greater than 370,000 miles and delivering more than 32,300 millions m3 of gas.

Due to this outstanding quantity of gas delivered, "Tellier" was the gold medal leader in 1988. The ship is owned by the French Company MESSIGAZ, a joint venture between GAZ DE FRANCE and C.G.M. The maintenance of the ship is made by the Technical Division of C.G.M in Marseille. Due to a careful policy of maintenance and due to the quality of the construction, the operation of the ship had not stopped for a repair work.

During the loading operation in SKIDA (Algeria) on February 15th, 1989 an accidental spillage of LNG occurred on the trunk-deck in way of tank nr 3. This spillage induced large cracks of the metallic structure of the ship. The cracks were due to the thermal shock at very low temperature.

Repair of this damaged structure included the replacement of 200 sq.m of the trunk-deck in order to be able to operate the ship.
