There has been much discussion, both written and oral, about Gas Carrier Crew Training. A synopsis is presented here of the crew training that was instituted for the EL paso Algeria I Project. There have been numerous papers from previous GASTECH conference describing various portions of the Algeria I project. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the training only, in particular the cargo handling training. The author is uniquely qualified for this due to his involvement as a principal instructor and Program Manager for the cargo handling training performed on behalf of EL Paso Marine Co. at MarineSafety International, Inc. in New York.
