Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows 7 - Engineering Examiner OOW
"Borland Database Engine" Error
If your computer is running Vista/Windows 7 32-bit as Operating System, you may get a Borland Database Engine error when trying to run the program.
To solve this problem, navigate to the following folder:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Borland Shared\BDE\
Right-click on BDEADMIN.EXE and Choose Run as Administrator (this is important).
Then under the Configuration tab
Select Drivers > Native > Paradox and click on the line that reads:
NET DIR and change the path to C:\Apps
Then click on the VERSION line to ensure that
NET DIR now says C:\Apps
Run the Engineering Examiner program and the problem should be solved.
The above solution is working on a standard Vista/Windows 7 installation. It could not work on a PC where additional software restriction policies have been activated (like preventing a program to run outside the \Program Files folder or locking down the machine).
Note:
The software is not currently compatible with 64-bit Operating Systems.
To check the version of your operating system, go to the Start menu, right-click on ‘Computer’ or ‘My Computer’ and select ‘Properties’.
